Common Ricoh Copy Machine Repair Areas

By Anna Fox

There are different tools that are used in an office to carry out activities. Technology has over time introduced new devices that simplify work. However, this pieces are prone to breakdown from time to time and hence the need to undertake functions to put them back to their functionality. Ricoh copy machine repair activities are meant to take care of pieces of equipment that have been impaired in the course of their working and aims at fixing the following problems.

Among the most common problems that are experienced by almost all users is paper jams. This comes from dirt, using the wrong type of paper or if the rollers feeding the equipment are worn out. Undertake cleaning of the equipment to get rid of dirt and especially dust particles that may have stuck. Additionally, occasionally replace the rollers and use only the specified type of paper.

Another problem experienced is faded printouts. The product might come out as not uniform where some of the items are clear while others are entirely invisible. It is due to low ink which makes it insufficient for the work. The set density might be way too low to produce visible items. Resent the density after refilling the toners to enable printing of clear items.

Ghosting is an issue where the image is going to be printed on the paper, but on some other part, the same appears in other parts. It automatically makes the item obsolete which is a waste of resources being used. The problem results from the power supply. Disconnect it and plug in another device to bring it back to normal.

Another thing that is commonly witnessed is the production of items that when touched after being made are easily erased, or ink smears all over. The source of this is the presence of a spillage inside. It can also be as a result of the toner being faulty which means it is getting too much ink. Clean the spillages that might have happened and change the cartridges.

A 50.4 error message might continuously be appearing during the process. This happens mostly when using the UPS source to power which is very wrong as it brings about uneven power surges. These devices are supposed to be connected to the socket wall due to the huge amounts of electricity that is needed to drive and ensure that the quality they print is up to standards without breakages in between.

Additionally, the device may end up printing from the wrong tray. Depending on a desired outcome, one usually set the process to use a particular tray. This might go in the reverse direction and thus a loss of resources and time. Check the settings on the PC and also those that specify issues with the size on it when this occurs.

Finally, the product might have lines appearing all over that were not on the intended document. They originate from particles being present on the lenses or mirror. Again they can be from malfunctioning of the drum. To get rid of such issues, clean the mirror on a regular basis. Moreover, replace the cartridge or any other part that might have a malfunction in the course of work.
